Many of them take considerable liberties in exploring the lives and works of composers and artists: the Tchaikovsky biopic \u201cThe Music Lovers\u201d (1970);\u201cSavage Messiah\u201d (1972), about the French sculptor Henri Gaudier-Brzeska; \u201cMahler\u201d (1974); \u201cLisztomania\u201d (1975), which imagined Franz Liszt as the original pop superstar.
