(Bresson’s Movies is a poem many love and are now going around the blogosphere. Bresson sounds like a lesson in Breathing, who is Bresson<\/a>? )<\/p>\n

Bresson’s Movies<\/p>\n

A movie of Robert
\nBresson’s showed a yacht,
\nat evening on the Seine,
\nall its lights on, watched<\/p>\n

by two young, seemingly
\npoor people, on a bridge adjacent,
\nthe classic boy and girl
\nof the story, any one<\/p>\n

one cares to tell. So
\nyears pass, of course, but
\nI identified with the young,
\nembittered Frenchman,<\/p>\n

knew his almost complacent
\nanguish and the distance
\nhe felt from his girl.
\nYet another film<\/p>\n

of Bresson’s has the
\naging Lancelot<\/a> with his
\nawkward armor standing
\nin a woods, of small trees,<\/p>\n

dazed, bleeding, both he
\nand his horse are,
\ntrying to get back to
\nthe castle, itself of<\/p>\n

no great size. It
\nmoved me, that
\nlife was after all
\nlike that. You are<\/p>\n

in love. You stand
\nin the woods, with
\na horse, bleeding.
\nThe story is true.<\/p>\n

“To Bresson, add Creeley (a Robert to a Robert, as shown by the witty enjambment of lines one and two). The poem puts the poet in the picture, and a binary lyric system prepares to close. But not yet, not quite.” (read from here<\/a>)<\/p>\n
