RIP Luther Price Experimental Filmmaker
RIP Luther Price. Word has come from Patrick Friel and Bobby Abate that the experimental filmmaker Luther Price has died. Starting as a teenager in the 1980s, he was one of the most inventive and endlessly productive filmmakers around. Initially working in super8, his films, installations and visual art works never ceased to amaze. A few years ago, Anthology Film Archives preserved some of his short films from the 1990s, and i was struck (again) at how vibrant his work was. Such a loss! Only in his 50s!
